Summer Camp Builds Character & Good Friendships
Summer Camp is a great experience and right of passage for many youth. Summer Camp has structure, but it is nothing like the strict rules of the classroom in school. Camp has a much looser environment and is meant to be fun. In camp children build life long friendships while working together as a team or participating in camp group activities. What ever the assignment, children are always learning, working on their social skills, communication skills, how to problem solve and how to work with others. They also learn to make good decisions, sometimes by making bad decision. Children learn so many things in camp, creatively camouflaged as fun activities.

We all know the importance of staying active as adults. It is just as, if not more important to instill an active lifestyle in children while they are young. The increase in children with childhood obesity and diabetes are on the rise in America. This is due to the inactivity of youth. Children are not getting enough exercise these days because they prefer the couch and video games. This is is a leading factor of weight gain and disease in our children.
