Living near State Road in Upper Darby, I have passed the Painted Tea Cup Boutique hundreds of times. As a tea lover, it makes no sense that I didn’t stop by this hidden Upper Darby gem sooner. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the shop and found vintage tea-themed artwork covering the walls. Soft music filled the air. Each room had a different set of tables and tea cup settings. Depending on the size of your party, the room that would best suit you would be determined. The warm setting encourages building relationships, conversation, and relaxation. The Painted Tea Cup is a place where you can escape the hustle and bustle of the day, enjoy a great cup of tea, and indulge in some homemade baked goods in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that feels like home. You can feel and see the love poured into the shop in every detail.

When having tea at The Tea Cup, you’ll choose from a rotating selection of 100 loose-leaf teas from around the world. You’ll also be served fresh-baked items from their daily set menu. Favorites include freshly baked scones or pastries, the classic cucumber sandwich, freshly made quiche, and seasonal salads bursting with local produce. Your tea wouldn’t be complete without dessert, so experiment and choose from their selection of cakes and tarts.
